REPORT EGRET GRONINGER GLAUCOOM AVOND

The EGRET+ GLAUCOOM EVENING, held on June 25th 2019, has been a great success! About 50 people (patients, their relatives or others interested) attended this meeting, which gave them a heads-up about the latest glaucoma research on glaucoma by the EGRET+/EGRET-cofund researchers. De EGRET+ GLAUCOOM EVENING, op 25 Juni j.l., was een groot succes! Zo’n 50 mensen (zowel patients, hun naasten als andere geinteresteerden) waren bij deze meeting aanwezig en gaf hun zo een overzicht van het glaucoom onderzoek dat door EGRET+/EGRET-cofund onderzoekers wordt uitgevoerd. Gratulations to Nigus Asefa and Anna Neustaeter, their second EGRET manuscript entitled “Heritability of glaucoma and glaucoma-related endophenotypes: Systematic review and meta-analysis” got accepted for publication in the Survey of Ophthalmology. EGRET+ en EGRET organiseren de “Groninger Glaucoom Avond”

De Groninger Glaucoom Avond zal plaatsvinden in het UMCG op 25 juni 2019, van 18:30 tot 22:00. Tijdens deze avond zal er meer informatie worden gegeven over EGRET, zal er een lezing zijn van prof. Nomdo Jansonius en zijn er verschillende workshops waar u zich voor kunt opgeven. Gratulations to Asterios Chrysou, his first EGRET manuscript entitled “Retinal layers in Parkinson’s disease: A meta-analysis of spectral-domain optical coherence tomography studies” got accepted for publication in the Parkinsonism and Related Disorders.

EGRET Trainingsworkshop 6: Clermont Ferrand (FR, early 2019)

“Training Workshop 6”

This workshop will primarily focus on two skills courses: Business Course Part 1 and Grant Writing Part 2. During the Business Course course Nadine Schmieder Galfe, from Eurogrant, will teach the fellows the basic concepts of Business Modelling and how to make a Business Canvas. During the Grant Writing Part 2, the fellows will receive feedback on their Grant Application Abstracts and will be prepared and and instructed on how to write a full Grant Application.

The fifth EGRET workshop will be held from the 1st – 4th of April 2019 in Clermont Ferrand (FR) as an integrated training event with EGRET-plus program. For the full program of the workshop, please click here.

Gratulations to Allison Loiselle, her first EGRET manuscript entitled “Noninvasive intracranial pressure assessment using otoacoustic emissions: An application in Glaucoma ” got accepted for publication in the PLoSONE.

EGRET Trainingsworkshop 5: Groningen (NL, late 2018)

“Training Workshop 5”

This workshop will primarily focus on two skills courses: Career Planning and Grant Writing Part 1. During the Career Planning course Fransis Bosch, from the Talent and Career Center, will discuss important considerations regarding planning a future career with the ESRs. During the Grant Writing Part 1, Prof. Frans Cornelissen and Marie-José van Tol will introduce the ‘How to’s’ and share their experiences on successful writing grant applications.

The fifth EGRET workshop will be held from the 19th – 22nd of November 2018 in Groningen (NL) as an integrated training event with EGRET-plus program. For the full program of the workshop, please click here.

EGRET’s first manuscript accepted for publication!

EGRET-cofund Advanced Course and Trainingsworkshop 4: London (NL, early 2018)

“Glaucoma and Statistics”

During this workshop, fellows will be trained and educated on how to perform statistics in glaucoma research. Furthermore, a meet and greet with Heidelberg Engineering, a high-tech imaging solutions company which designs, manufactures, and distributes diagnostic instruments for eye care professionals, is plannend.
